Jan Mongell – Founder & Cookbook Author

There’s Always Something New to Try


Jan Mongell, Cookbook AuthorWith over 26 years of experience as a cookbook author, Jan Mongell has proven to be an expert in the culinary arena. In the late 1970s, Jan began her own product and food consulting company. Testing and demonstrating new products and developing sales training seminars for major manufacturers have continued to be some of Jan’s notable successes. As a product and food consultant, Jan has developed recipes for cancer patients nationwide, appeared for ten years as a guest chef on Trinity Broadcast Network, a guest chef on Beverly Hills cable show, “To Your Health”, and co-hosted a local radio food and wine show. Due to her excellent reputation, education, and experience, Jan has been a guest lecturer at Orange Coast College, the Orange County Fair, and church and community organizations throughout Southern California for the past 18 years.
Presently, Jan continues to provide food consultation services to local institutions, conducts cooking classes, napkin folding and table setting seminars throughout the community, and develops sales training for product manufacturers. In the summer months, you will find Jan at the Orange County Fair either conducting one of her very creative cooking segments or judging various edible entries.

Jan is recognized for her training and expertise in sales, food styling and design, and floral design which add to her successful presentations and lectures. She has written and published five cookbooks, “Magic Keys to Cooking,” “Pumpkin Cooking with Jan,” “A Taste of Fish,” “A Taste of Holiday Foods,” and “A Fare to Remember” which have been sold nationwide. She is presently working on, “Kitchen Talk”, a collection of her favorite holiday menus with recipes.

In addition to formal education, additional course studies include Marketing, Business and Management, certification in Food Styling, Floral Design, and Color Design. Her culinary training was extensive and under notable restaurant chefs, (Wolfgang Puck, Jacques Pepin, Gulliano Bugialli, Biba Cagiano), to name a few. For a period of 15 years, she was a Product Representative and Consumer Advisor Coordinator for the Cuisinart Corporation.

Some of the professional affiliations in which Jan is a member include the International Association of Cooking Professionals (IACP); the National Culinary Federation (NCF); the Orange County Herb Society; and the Culinary Chef’s Association of California (CCAC).

Jan resides in Orange County, California.
